Scaling an organization begins with scaling it’s leadership—you. As you scale your organization, you must also learn to scale yourself and your team. However, it’s easy to fall into old habits of doing, which hold you and your team back. Over the course of two days, learn to overcome the chaos of hyperscaling by developing new skills and frameworks to scale yourself, your team, and the design practice.

This workshop is created for experienced managers and directors that are scaling their organization, beginning to manage managers, and are seeking ways to be more efficient in their role. Applies to leaders across creative disciplines — brand design, product design, research and content strategy. All industries and backgrounds welcome.

Scaling you:

Design Leadership Profile
The Design Leadership Profile focuses on four pillars of creative leadership—vision, team and execution—and the critical skills necessary to successfully deliver within each area. Develop your personal profile to inform your own growth and your team’s development.

Sustainable leadership
The key to scaling your leadership (and avoiding burnout) comes from within. Beyond the basics of self-management and discipline, two key areas for creative leaders to invest is their creativity and resilience.

Designing your time
It’s a classic challenge: the urgent winning out over the important. Designing your time teaches a framework for evaluating impact and effort to determine what to prioritize, delegate, or dump—so you begin your journey of scaling your impact with a clear path for moving forward.

Dynamic leadership
Leadership is a multi-dimensional, creative practice. Today’s leaders embrace models and mindsets as diverse as the challenges they face, and are flexible and responsive in how they lead. This introduction to modes of leadership gives participants opportunities to explore models and mindsets that are critical to developing a dynamic leadership style.

Scaling your team:

The art of delegation
Delegation is not only a successful tool in scaling yourself, but it’s also a great opportunity to help your team develop new competencies. Learn the different types of delegating and how to gracefully share responsibilities with your team.

Introduction to coaching
As creatives transition into leadership, they often rely on directing and problem-solving as a primary interaction model with their teams. Coaching is a powerful tool to empower your team and scale yourself. Develop skills to introduce coaching as a new mode of leadership into your practice to help your team thrive.

Scaling excellence
High performance design teams focus on solving the right problems with the right guardrails and processes in place to build quality experiences rapidly. In this session, we focus on two key areas of the excellence framework that support scaling excellence.

While we cannot transfer or allow for substitutions, we can help you with a refund.

  • Within one week of registration: Registration is 100% refundable.

  • Between one week of registration and one month before workshop: We'll refund 50% of your registration fee.

  • One month before workshop: Registration is non-refundable.
